Im pretty sure that if we all took a breath and employed a little self discipline ,the fighting and thread hijacking would be reduced to a crawl.

One,dont be the first to post that snide remark whether you feel insulted by something another said or not....And if you feel your friend has been, either let them stand their ground or take it up through a private message before ganging up by having all your friends post nasty remarks and accusing them of things they have not even done.Dont bother denying it because it has been happening. Also, you might want to do a little checking to see what the poster you are attacking is all about before showing your butt by attempting to discredit them. They might just know a little something about the subject they are posting about.

Two,Find at least a little bit of evidence to post before spouting that something exists or doesnt as if it is a fact..Because no matter how much happens to us personally or what,(and we all know it does or we wouldnt be here)unless we have evidence,it is only our word and there are alot of liars on this site.If others want to believe you, then fine..if not?... so the hell what. But that goes without saying,so why even mention that? But try to put SOMETHING to back yourself up.Otherwise, it an opinion.Nothing more. That opinion doesnt not make it a fact and you cannot really educate anyone with only your opinion.

Three,do your homework! Dont spout insults if all you have is personal experience and never bother to do any research..remember,its just your opinion. And when you attempt to state facts about something you dont even know about,it only makes you look like an ass.

Four,we all want to know hands down whether Vampires exist.Lets try working together in seeking the truth. Hopefully finding out what that deffinition really is and how we can back it up with some evidence. This is the internets largest Vampire database after all!

Five, there are those who tend to fully believe everything is supernatural..ok There are those who are hard core science..ok There are also those who ar balanced between both who accepts the possibility and knowledge that strange things happen, but look in ALL directions to find possible answers. And even though you might not like it,many have found them through a science ..Always keep in mind that science can give you evidence that might or might not lend credence to something..You know, like gravity as mentioned in one of the posts.

;)Thats just the way it is.

So again,I pose the question ..What have you experienced that has made you a firm believer?

Last note..thanks to those who posted to me personally in the "Are they real?" thread.I would like to address those points brought to light when I get another break in work and can add a little something to the thread on the subject.

China oil spill doubles in size, called 'severe threat'

Greenpeace volunteer says crude is 'as sticky as asphalt'Photos

Share Print Font: +-BEIJING — China's largest reported oil spill emptied beaches along the Yellow Sea as its size doubled Wednesday, while cleanup efforts included straw mats and frazzled workers with little more than rubber gloves.

An official warned the spill posed a "severe threat" to sea life and water quality as China's latest environmental crisis spread off the shores of Dalian, once named China's most livable city.

One cleanup worker has drowned, his body coated in crude.

"I've been to a few bays today and discovered they were almost entirely covered with dark oil," said Zhong Yu with environmental group Greenpeace China, who spent the day on a boat inspecting the spill.

"The oil is half-solid and half liquid and is as sticky as asphalt," she told The Associated Press by telephone.

The oil had spread over 165 square miles (430 square kilometers) of water five days since a pipeline at the busy northeastern port exploded, hurting oil shipments from part of China's strategic oil reserves to the rest of the country. Shipments remained reduced Wednesday.

State media has said no more oil is leaking into the sea, but the total amount of oil spilled is not yet clear.

Greenpeace China released photos Wednesday of inky beaches and of straw mats about 2 square meters (21 square feet) in size scattered on the sea, meant to absorb the oil.

Fishing in the waters around Dalian has been banned through the end of August, the state-run Xinhua News Agency reported.

"The oil spill will pose a severe threat to marine animals, and water quality, and the sea birds," Huang Yong, deputy bureau chief for the city's Maritime Safety Administration, told Dragon TV.

At least one person died during cleanup efforts. A 25-year-old firefighter, Zhang Liang, drowned Tuesday when a wave threw him from a vessel, Xinhua reported.

Officials, oil company workers and volunteers were turning out by the hundreds to clean blackened beaches.

Workers pull a struggling colleague to safety in the Chinese port of Dalian, Liaoning province.

.."We don't have proper oil cleanup materials, so our workers are wearing rubber gloves and using chopsticks," an official with the Jinshitan Golden Beach Administration Committee told the Beijing Youth Daily newspaper, in apparent exasperation.

"This kind of inefficiency means the oil will keep coming to shore. ... This stretch of oil is really difficult to clean up in the short term."

But 40 oil-skimming boats and about 800 fishing boats were also deployed to clean up the spill, and Xinhua said more than 15 kilometers (9 miles) of oil barriers had been set up to keep the slick from spreading.

China Central Television earlier reported an estimate of 1,500 tons of oil has spilled. That would amount roughly to 400,000 gallons (1,500,000 liters) — as compared with 94 million to 184 million gallons in the BP oil spill off the U.S. coast.

China's State Oceanic Administration released the latest size of the contaminated area in a statement Tuesday.

The cause of the explosion that started the spill was still not clear. The pipeline is owned by China National Petroleum Corp., Asia's biggest oil and gas producer by volume.

Friday's images of 100-foot-high (30-meter-high) flames at China's second largest port for crude oil imports drew the immediate attention of President Hu Jintao and other top leaders. Now the challenge is cleaning up the greasy plume.

"Our priority is to collect the spilled oil within five days to reduce the possibility of contaminating international waters," Dalian's vice mayor, Dai Yulin, told Xinhua on Tuesday.

But an official with the State Oceanic Administration has warned the spill will be difficult to clean up even in twice that amount of time.

Some locals said the area's economy was already hurting.

"Let's wait and see how well they deal with the oil until Sept. 1, if the oil can't be cleaned up by then, the seafood products will all be ruined," an unnamed fisherman told Dragon TV. "No one will buy them in the market because of the smell of the oil."

Methane Gas Explosion in the Gulf Could Kill Millions

Posted 1 day ago Read all 1 comments +2Published July 01, 2010 by:

Dave Jackson

BP's Deepwater Horizon rig has punctured a mega pocket of highly pressurized methane gas - putting millions of lives at risk in the Gulf. Oil and methane continue to surge into the Gulf from the destroyed well, with little hope of abatement. Evidence is growing for a devastating eruption of methane gas from deep beneath the sea floor. The resulting methane gas explosion and series of tsunamis could absolutely decimate the entire region.

High Risk Area for Methane and Blowouts

The extreme methane risk was well known before drilling commenced. Geologists warned oil companies working in the area that massive pockets of methane gas exist deep beneath the sea floor. The risk for a blowout and methane explosion was considered to be extremely high.

BP chose to drill an ultra deep well directly above such a pocket - this one as large as 20 miles in diameter.

Discoveries of natural gas are, of course, an important part of exploration. But the pressures of these methane pockets was predicted to be far higher than current technology can deal with. Typical well head pressures are in the 1,500 pounds per square inch range. Geologists warned that gas pressures in this area could range between 30,000 and 70,000 psi. Some reports indicate the actual pressure at the well head is 100,000 psi.

No drilling equipment can handle this amount of pressure. Given the extreme risks involved with drilling in this location, BP is keeping a tight lid on all data regarding pressures and drilling depth. There is speculation that the drilling went to at least 30,000 feet - far deeper than the 18,500 foot drilling permit allowed. Even more speculation exists that BP was following Russia's lead in searching for highly controversial "abiotic oil", since biogenic oil and gas should not exist below the 15,000 foot level.

Evidence for a Serious Methane Gas Threat

The threat of a methane gas explosion in the Gulf has been attributed to fear mongering. Is there any evidence to these claims? Robotic submarines are returning some very alarming video footage of methane gas hazards. Cracks and fissures are opening up on the sea floor over an area of several miles. A number of "pock marks" have appeared on the sea floor as far as 20 miles away from the original Macondo blow out. Oil and methane gas is escaping from areas that have never even been drilled.

Frighteningly, these fissures appear to be growing and connecting with each other. The methane pock marks are growing in size. Even worse, the weakened sea floor is being heaved up into a massive, fracturing, mound. A geological time bomb, previously locked away under miles of rock, has been disturbed. Evidence is pointing to the very grim possibility that a methane gas bubble, 15 to 20 miles in diameter, could indeed rupture the sea floor and escape with unimaginable violence.

John Kessler of Texas A & M University, said "This is the most vigorous methane eruption in modern history". The oil contains 40% methane - much higher than the usual 5%. The USGS claims that 2,900 cubic feet of gas is accompanying each barrel of oil from the well - also much higher than usual.

The EPA has found extremely high levels of other toxic gasses, such as benzene and hydrogen sulphide. It appears that BP did drill an ultra deep well, piercing an absolutely immense bubble of high pressure methane. Could they have unleashed a disaster that is unfolding with no possibility of reversal?

How Could the Ultimate BP Disaster Kill Millions?

The worst case scenarios are truly horrific. If this methane gas bubble ruptures the sea floor and unleashes itself, the devastation and loss of life would be unprecedented in human history. The loss of life would not be limited to oil field and spill clean up personnel - millions of lives all across the Gulf States are at terrible risk.

The smallest problem: methane gas is not buoyant enough to float ships or oil rigs. Any vessels in the area would immediately sink. Similarly, aircraft cannot fly in methane - any aircraft would lose lift and simply fall out of the sky. The amount of water displaced by such a methane gas bubble would generate a tsunami - likely of a magnitude that humanity has never seen before. A gigantic cavity would be left where the methane existed – which would immediately flood with sea water. Because of the extreme depths of the methane gas bubble (possibly six miles), the temperatures are far above the boiling point of water. The icy sea water would explosively convert to steam, increase in volume dramatically, and erupt upwards to cause a second and possibly even larger tsunami.

Looking at an elevation map of the Gulf and eastern seaboard of the United States, it's clear to see what kind of devastation a tsunami would cause. The loss of life could very well be in the millions, making the Sumatra tsunami look trivial.

Transocean's drilling rig was destroyed by a methane gas explosion seconds after the blowout. This explosion and fire claimed 11 lives. But what would happen if a methane gas bubble 20 miles across were to explode?

Methane gas is explosive in atmospheric ratios between 5% and 15% - a wider range than gasoline. Hundreds of billions of cubic feet of methane could burst free in a matter of seconds - a situation that BP calls an "open communication to the sea floor". (8 billion cubic feet have already been released from the blown out well alone.) The possible detonation and fireball has been referred to as "biblical" in size and destruction - several times larger than the most powerful nuclear weapon ever exploded.

Environmental Catastrophe

Methane gas is 20 to 25 times more efficient as a global warming gas than carbon dioxide. What could happen if all this methane erupted to the surface but did not explode? Those that survived the tsunamis would be spared the greatest explosion ever witnessed. Instead, a runaway acceleration of our global warming crisis could easily result.

55 million years ago, uplifting tectonic plates created the Himalayas. Changes to the sea floor allowed mega pockets of methane gas to be released. The result was an increase in global temperature of 7 degrees Celsius. A temperature rise of this magnitude could potentially submerge our cities and our best agricultural land. Hundreds of millions of people, at the very least, could perish world wide through starvation and economic collapse. The troubled Macondo well, far behind schedule, was turning into a financial horror show for BP. The crew, supervisors, and even Halliburton were gravely concerned about a major blowout . Blatant disregard for safety was shown right from the initial application through to the final explosion and sinking of the rig. Their efforts to save a few million dollars may dramatically change the course of history.

What if BP did punch an ultra deep well directly into a gargantuan pocket of methane - a pocket so deep that we have no experience with the pressures involved? What if the sea floor is beginning to unzip? Could this methane bubble tear through several miles of solid rock? Sedimentary rock, probably sandstone, isn't very solid really. It is already riddled with natural faults and has now been severely tampered with.

Will this liberated methane detonate in a "biblical fireball"? Will the Gulf States be inundated with a furious series of tsunamis? Will global warming accelerate at a pace we could not have imagined?

These are a lot of very grim questions that no one can answer. The situation is almost too frightening to believe. But ignoring the evidence won't make it go away. We've never experienced methane discharges or well pressures anywhere near these levels, and something very terrible is happening deep in the Gulf.

Terrible enough that detonating a nuclear blast to kill the well has been considered. As risky and radical as it sounds, the heat could cause a durable layer of glass to form over the entire problem. Or, it could make the problem worse - much worse...

my favorite thing now with BP that makes me laugh, is how they are trying to look good by paying the unemployment of the fishermen who use the gulf to fish..well the ecosystem is never going to be right after this. it will take a long time before sea life is normal...to me its like a slap in these people faces.

Ocean floor in Gulf of Mexico on the verge of collapsing

www.Huliq.com, by Nick Doms

The BP oil spill is about to take a turn for the worse. The ocean floor on top of the Deepwater Horizon well is showing cracks and may be on the verge of collapsing completely, increasing the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico exponentially.

Several geologists and drilling engineers have studied live video and pictures of the ocean floor structure next to the rising pipe and right above the BP well. They have concluded with certainty that there are several cracks visible already that may further impact the entire integrity of the ocean floor.

The partial capping of the riser pipe may have been the cause that increased the pressure inside the well and caused several cracks on the ocean floor right above it. If the floor were to lose its integrity and collapse, then 150,000 barrels of crude will find its way to the surface of the Gulf of Mexico on a daily basis.

The cracks or collapse of the floor cannot be contained nor remedied with any available technical equipment and may affect other nearby wells that still operate in the vicinity.

Scientists and experts expect that a collapse of the ocean floor will become the largest environmental disaster in history with an uncontrollable amount of crude coming to the surface and further threatening all Gulf States that are already battered and hurt.

The BP solution to use relief drills will not be available until mid August and will be too late to prevent a collapse, deemed to be imminent. More than 150k barrels of crude together with 450 million cubic feet of methane gas will be unleashed in the Gulf of Mexico on a daily basis.

All the crude oil will follow the slip stream of the Gulf Stream and travel along the Eastern seaboard as it makes its way up north and ultimately into the Atlantic.

According to documents obtained from the Coast Guard, the White House was informed of such a threat within days after the collapse of the BP drilling platform on April 22nd but failed to inform the American public.

The cracks on the ocean floor are the direct result of the single string casing used by BP and the failure to apply proper cementing bond logs in addition to only using 6 centralizers instead of the recommended 21.
